The mission of the Hopewell-Prince George Chamber of Commerce is to assure that
businesses thrive. We accomplish our mission by focusing on Advocacy,
Networking and Promotion.

Becky McDonough – Executive Director
Mrs. McDonough is a resident of Prince George County. She graduated from the
University of Georgia. In her early career she worked in specialty sales and
marketing for Virginia and Global Chemical Companies. Becky is a member of
Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (VACCE) and she has
completed the VACCE Institute Course. She is a board member of the Hopewell
Rotary Club. Also she is a member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee
and Hopewell Community and Industry Panel. Becky is married with two children
in the Prince George County school system.

Caillee Mallahan – Membership Coordinator
Ms. Mallahan joined the Chamber as a student intern. She has experience in
graphic design, photography (photo journalism), event planning and
coordination. Caillee is attending Richard Bland College and she is currently
taking computer science classes. She is an asset to the Chamber with her
energetic and professional approach to the diversity of work each day.

Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee provides a link between businesses, government, and the
military, primarily through the ad hoc representatives that serve on the
Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, but also through the following
activities and affiliations.

Promotion
The Chamber promotes members and the community through publications, business
referrals, and through service on numerous advisory boards. Members promote
their businesses through the newsletter, on the website, and as sponsors of
events and programs. Chamber Ambassadors conduct ribbon cutting ceremonies for
new businesses and they assist with grand openings and relocations of existing
businesses.

Mission Statement. Board Members chair committees, but all members are welcome

McDaniel
McDaniel Financial Group, Inc.
Mr. McDaniel has been President of McDaniel
Financial Group, Inc. since 1976. He is a Certified Family Business Specialist,
Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Roundtable, Member of the Massachusetts
Mutual Life Insurance, Leaders All American Broker with American Funds, and
President Council with Oppenheimer Funds. He is involved in the community as
President of the Board of directors for Eagles Baseball, Inc. and serves on the
Board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. In 2006 he served as the HPG
Treasurer and was the co-chair of the Voice of Business Committee.

Strosnider
Strosnider Chevrolet
Mr. Strosnider is the President of Strosnider Chevrolet. He graduated from
David Lipscomb College with a B.S. in Accounting in 1977. He has served on the
Business Accounting Managers Council for General Motors for the past 15 years.
Chris has also served as the President Elect for the Hopewell-Prince George
Chamber of Commerce in 2006 as well as Chairperson for the Membership
Committee. He is active with the United Way, the Church of Christ as a Deacon,
and the Treasurer of Cawson Street Christian Pre-School.

Brantley
Bank of Southside Virginia
Mrs. Brantley has 30 years banking
experience and is Regional Manger with The Bank of Southside Virginia. She
overseas branch operations as well as business development. She is a
Prince-George Extension Leadership Council board member, Secretary of the
Sussex County Chamber of Commerce, and an associate member of the Homebuilders
of Southside Virginia. She recently assisted in the development of a strategic
plan for Sussex County School system. She also serves on the HPG Chamber
Membership Committee.

Secretary - Charles “Chuck”
Welch
Honeywell/Hopewell
Mr. Welch is the Production Manager of Honeywell at the Hopewell Plant, where
he has held other positions, such as Production Engineer, Unit Supervisor,
Supply Chain Leader, Project Leader, and Technical Leader. Chuck graduate from
Virginia Tech with a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering in 1989. He received his
MBA from Averett College in 1998. He currently resides with his wife and son in
the Enon area.

Treasurer - Andy Clark

Mr. Clark has been an agent with Ligon L.
Insurance Services Inc. since 2001. He graduated from James Madison University
in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He is a licensed agent in both
Property and Casualty, and Life Insurance. Andy is obtaining his A.A.I
(Accredited Advisor in Insurance). He is the Past President of the Rotary Club
of Hopewell and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hopewell
Emergency Crew.

Ms. Abernathy has been the Co-Owner of Parr
& Abernathy Realty since 1986. Elizabeth has a Life Membership in the
Outstanding Sales Club of the Southside Virginia Association of Realtors, She
is also President of the Southside Virginia Association of Realtors, Realtor of
the Year. She is a Graduate of the Realtors Institute and is a Certified
Residential Specialist and Certified Residential Broker. In 2005, she served as
the President of the Virginia Managers Council for the Virginia Association of
Realtors. She and her husband live in Prince George and their two sons
graduated from Prince George High School.

John Randolph Medical Center, CEO
Mr. Boone is the CEO of John Randolph Medical Center. He has worked for
Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) for nine years as Chief Operating Officer
at Chippenham/Johnston-Willis Medical Center in Richmond and the Chief
Executive Officer at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire. Bernie
received his Bachelors from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board
certified in Health Care and has a Masters in Health Services Administration
from the University of Michigan. Mr. Boone is a Diplomat with the American
College of Healthcare Executives.

Sarita Harding
S&B Design
Mrs. Harding has been the owner of S&B
Design, located in Prince George County, for four years. S& B Designs helps
promote other businesses through specialty gifts and products. Mrs. Harding has
worked on several HPG Chamber projects, to include the yearly membership
meeting and the welcoming committee for new HPG teachers.

Chris Neal
Randolph Market, Inc.
Mr. Neal has been the co-owner and operator of
Randolph Market in Hopewell since 1996. He graduated from James Madison
University with a B.S. in Political Science with a Minor in History in 1991.
Chris had the honor of receiving the Chamber of Commerce Business Award in
2005. He is a member of many organizations including the Hopewell Historical
Foundation, Virginia Historical Society, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation,
James River Ball Patron, and First Presbyterian Church.

Blair Nelsen
Mr. Nelsen is the owner of the Nelsen Funeral
Home Gould Chapel. He is also a retired Air Force pilot. He served on the City
of Hopewell Cemetery Committee, Director of the Beacon Theatre Foundation,
member of the Hopewell Rotary Club, and one term director of the Greater
Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the President, Director and Legislative
Chairman of the Independent Funeral Homes of Virginia. He currently serves as
Secretary Treasurer of Preferred Funeral Directors International.

Danny Riddle
Riddle Sign Corp., Owner
Mr. Riddle is the owner of Riddle Sign Company
in Hopewell. He worked for AlliedSignal (now known as Honeywell) for 23 years.
His work has been published in various magazines such as Street Scene and Super
Chevy. His paint and graphic design has been in numerous local and regional car
shows, including national publication Sign and Business Magazine. Danny is a
member of the Rotary Club of Hopewell, HPG Crime Solvers, Hopewell High School
Wall of Fame Committee, and Past President of the Hopewell-Prince George
Chamber of Commerce.

Lewis E. Stevenson
Abateco Services, Inc., Owner
Mr.Stevenson is the Owner and President of
Abateco Services, Inc since 1992. Abateco is a small environmental and historic
restoration company with 50 employees serving the eastern United States. Mr.
Stevenson attended Richard Bland College and Old Dominion University, studying
engineering and business management. He has served on the Virginia Asbestos
Council, Virginia Board for Asbestos Licensing and Lead Certification, Hopewell
Prince George Red Cross (past Board member and past Chairman).

Tommy Wells
TJVideo-CableTV, Owner
Mr. Wells has been the owner of TJ
Video/CableTV for 21 years. He started the company while still employed at
Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. where he worked for 40 years as the Financial
Secretary and President of the Local 1153 United Paper Workers International
Union. Tommy is a member of the Senior Citizens Advisory Commission for the
City of Hopewell, Hopewell Optimist Club, and Chairman of the Crater District
Area Agency on Aging. In the past he served in various positions in the
Hopewell Jaycees. Tommy was born in Petersburg and grew up in the Hopewell
School System.
