Fireworks on the Appomattox
The Appomattox River will glimmer and sparkle with one of the most breathtaking fireworks displays you have ever seen! Crowds of thousands will gather at various viewing locations along the shoreline or from their boats to take in this amazing site. Personal fireworks are not permitted at any public viewing area

Alcohol is not permitted at any public viewing area

The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. and will last approximately 15 minutes

Heavy traffic should be expected in the vicinity of John Randolph Medical Center, City Park, and the Hopewell City Marina
Special Note to Boaters:

The navigable channel of the Appomattox River will be closed during the fireworks display
-
A safety perimeter will be established around the fireworks barge and will be enforced by marine patrol units from Prince George County Police and the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries

The edge of the safety perimeter will be marked with yellow buoys on either side of the channel

Boaters may launch at the Hopewell City Marina (regular ramp fee will be charged)

Boaters should use caution and avoid shallow water in and around City Point

John Randolph Medical Center, 411 W. Randolph Road
The staff at John Randolph Medical Center invite you to enjoy some Fun Before the Fireworks from 7:00-9:00 PM including concessions, games, music, face painting, and the opportunity to meet local healthcare providers. Activities will be available in JRMC's parking area and the main viewing location will be in the rear parking lot of the hospital. Please note that only street parking is available at this location. The use of tobacco products is prohibited on the grounds of the John Randolph Medical Center. Regular hospital operations will not be impacted by this event.
Hopewell City Marina, 1051 Riverside Avenue
The Hopewell City Marina is a popular viewing location. Although located further away from the barge, the marina offers beautiful views of the show. Please note that some vantage points at the marina may be obstructed by the Route 10 bridge and that parking may be limited due to truck and trailer parking for boaters. If viewing the show from a boat, the Hopewell City Marina is the closest launching point to the display.
City Park and Riverwalk, 205 Appomattox Street
The beach area at City Park offers beautiful views of the display. Please note that the beach area may be difficult to access for persons with disabilities. Limited parking is available at City Park. To view from the Riverwalk, a ticket is required. Tickets are free and will be limited to six (6) per person. Tickets will be available online and at the Hopewell Community Center beginning Monday, June 24, at 9:00 a.m. Pets and coolers will not be permitted on the Riverwalk during the display. Please note that tickets are limited.
