    Hopewell/Prince George Futures Initiative Underway

Hopewell/Prince George, Va. – In the fall of 2017 the H/PG Chamber Board of Directors determined a course of action in preparation for the 100th Anniversary of the Chamber’s incorporation September 2020.  The Futures Initiative was formed. This team is working to ensure that the Chamber is on the right course.
Incremental changes have been underway since 2017 which include granting our ex officio board members a vote.  This change signals the importance of our local government communications.  In January we held a reception for newly elected PG County supervisors because dialogue with local elected officials is important.
During the coming months there will be a number of opportunities for members and the community to come together to focus on the future.  The public is invited to participate in one or all of the upcoming activities:

ARTOBER – begins Oct. 2 and continues every Tuesday and Thursday evening at Guncotton Coffee and Gallery.  Free arts appreciation for everyone in downtown Hopewell.
STRATEGIC PLAN PUBLIC COMMENT - Community Review of Prince George County Strategic Plan – Noon, October 4.  Chamber Office 4100 Oaklawn Blvd., Hopewell, VA  23860.  Light snacks will be provided. The documents are available for study in the lobby of the Chamber Building as well as on the County web site www.princegeorgeva.org.
ANNUAL MIXER – Best networking program of the year at The Barns of Kanak on Oct. 30th from 5 – 7 PM.  Call 541-2461 for additional information.
FUTURES Candidates Forum – Come together to focus on the future with Candidates for Hopewell City Council.  Our host location is the VFW Post 637 1400 Lynchburg St., Hopewell, VA on Nov. 1 from 6:30 – 8 PM.  Make plans to attend this event.  Refreshments will be served.
