Paddy's Irish Pub Now Open in Downtown Hopewell
After what turned out to be not a very long wait at all, Padd'ys Irish Pub is open in Downtown Hopewell. On Saturday, April 20th 2019, representatives from the City of Hopewell, as well as the Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce and the Hopewell Downtown Partnership attended a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for the new business.
Owner, Stephanie Marzigliano, graciously posed for a photo wearing our CEO, Becky McDonough's ancient family good luck charm. Outside, 100 people eagerly stood on the sidewalk waiting for the ribbon to be cut and the doors to open. Snip, snip and away they flew. A steady stream of hungry patrons filed to the bar for a welcoming pint and a bite to eat.
Since their grand opening, the pub has been jam packed for lunch and dinner. Word on the street is the Beef Stew and Stephanie's signature Shepard's Pie are the go to favorites. Personally, I am happy about the beer selection. Sure they have the irish standards, like Guniess and Harp. But, they also have Smithwick's (pronounced Smittick's, not Smith-wick's) and Carlsberg, which is one of my all-time faves. So, get downtown and check 'em out. They're real cool, y'all!
