Pledge to support local farmers! Shop in Hopewell, Virginia
We are halfway through Virginia’s Farmers’ Market Week!
Have you considered taking the “Farm.Fresh.Pledge!”? The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services sponsors this promotion to help grow Virginia’s economy and support our local farmers. All they ask is that you spend $10 a week on Virginia grown products!
If the pledge peaks your interest, check out The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ website: http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/vagrown/index.shtml
I can recommend two great opportunities that will help kick-start your pledge! First, you can fill your cart this week with local produce at Randolph Market in Hopewell. They proudly display the Virginia Grown banner outside!
Then, next Thursday August 17th, you can keep up with your $10 commitment by visiting The Downtown Hopewell Partnership’s Third Thursday’s Open Air Market. There, you’ll find fresh local produce including pastured chickens and fresh veggies! You can also enjoy live music, local food trucks, and craft beer while shopping.
Let the Hopewell Prince George Visitor Welcome Center help you find all things grown local! Our travel advisors are ready to help you buy local and eat fresh in Hopewell and Prince George, VA!
