• Prince George County, Virginia is Hopping!

The Kvasnicka family has been farming in Prince George County since 1896.  Today they raise soybeans, wheat, barley, and rye AND Tony Kvasnicka is growing hops for fun while he works to establish himself as a malt supplier to craft brewers.  Malt comes from barley and is tricky to grow in this region according to Kvasnicka.

Working with a Virginia Tech bred barley called “Thorough Bred”, Tony has found a customer in local brewer Terry Ammons of Ammo Brewing.  If you ask for Ammo’s 6 row mosaic you will be enjoying Czech grown barley, locally malted.
