• Shop local and eat fresh in Hopewell and Prince George County Virginia

    August 07, 2017
Did you know August 6-12, 2017 is Virginia Farmers’ Market Week? Join us as we graciously celebrate local farmers and artisans who fill our homes and bellies with their hard-work. From homemade soap to locally grown tomatoes, and even organic chicken, you can find something for everyone at a local farmers’ market!

Not only are you supporting local communities and community members by shopping at a farmers’ market; you’re more importantly supporting their unique sense of place and pride.

A local farmers’ market provides a matchless blend of farm, food, and artisan businesses, truly highlighting all of the unique sights, sounds, and smells of a community which draw citizens and tourists alike!

To kick off this week of celebrating all things “locally known and Virginia grown” at Virginia farmers’ markets, I’m taking the VirginiaGrown.com Farm.Fresh.Pledge to support local farmers and artisans by spending $10 a week on Virginia grown products!

For more information about the Virginia Farmer’s Market Week and the Farm.Fresh.Pledge, visit http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/vagrown/index.shtml

You can even stop in to the Hopewell Prince George Visitor Welcome Center and let our travel advisors lead to to the next local farmers’ market.
