• Who Is Having a 100th Birthday Celebration in Prince George County, VA?

Fort Lee!  The US Army leased 9,000 acres in Prince George County, Virginia in April, 1917 to train the mobilizing Army.  They named it Camp Lee.  From that time until today Camp Lee has provided training and for a brief time; and it even served as a forest and game preserve for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Today, Fort Lee is the third largest training center in the Army, training more than 10,000 students at any given time.  Hopewell and Prince George County enjoy welcoming students and their families to the area for a graduation ceremony, family celebrations, and deployment farewells.
