Prince George County, Virginia

If you are starting a new business, you must contact the Planning and Zoning Division for approval.  You can visit the Planning and Zoning Division website or call 804-722-8678 to request an Application for a New Business License. That application will require the following:

Copy of your business approval form from the Department of Community Development and Code Compliance (if applicable) – 804-722-8659.

Copy of your receipt from the Circuit Court’s office, where you registered your assumed or fictitious business name (if applicable) – 804-733-2640.

Applications for a local contractor’s license must include a completed VWC Form (Virginia Workers’ Compensation)

Some businesses also require a State license, Health Department Inspection, building inspection or Police Department registration before a local license can be issued. Call 804-722-9740 for information.
